TNCDSB - COVID-19 ADVISORIES FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
As per the requirements of the Ministry of Education, the COVID-19 Advisory page is available on our Board website as well as all TNCDSB school websites.
We will post information on this page if there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 that involves a student or a staff member in a school setting. If the Northwestern Health Unit advises that a class, cohort or school should be closed for a period of time, parents/guardians, students and staff will be notified immediately. Notice of any closures of classes, cohorts or schools will also be posted on this page.
POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE
(Sioux Lookout November 28, 2020) The Northwest Catholic District School Board has received notification of a positive COVID-19 case at Sacred Heart School and are working closely with the Northwestern Health Unit (NWHU) on next steps. The positive case is being followed up by the Northwestern Health Unit and all contacts of the case will be called and given instructions by public health.
We are working with the NWHU to make sure all potential risks are minimized. Due to our COVID-19 prevention strategies in place, those staff and students not contacted by the school can continue to attend school as usual. For reasons of privacy, we will minimize sharing personal information about any case and encourage others to avoid identifying individuals.
All students and staff should use the Government of Ontario's school screening tool daily before attending school. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/
