"With signs of renewal and rebirth in the community, blossom by blossom, we are reminded that spring is in the air!"
As we move into the month of April, we look forward to the signs of Spring, which means the Easter season is finally here. While we celebrate with chocolates, candy and the excitement of the Easter Bunny, it is important to remember what this springtime holiday is really about: the season of renewal. We celebrate rebirth in many different ways, from the blooming of spring flowers after a long winter, to the celebration of Christs' resurrection and we exclaim with excitement "He has Risen!" During this Lent period, we are reminded that through prayer, Christ wants to lead us back to our baptismal promises of living for God. We prepare ourselves to enter once again into Jesus' Paschal mystery and to renew it in our lives. As a school community, our Lenten promises will bring into focus on how we can help ourselves, friends, families and our community.
We are headed into the final stretch of the school year and the weather continues to improve, we have to constantly remind ourselves that there are still three months of school left, and busy months they are! Our staff is providing many exciting opportunities for students to enrich their school experience through experiential learning days, hot lunch, new learning sessions with Connected North, creating a school garden, and more! Our focus continues to be on student engagement and creating lessons and activities that provide opportunities for our students to communicate, collaborate, be creative, solve problems, and think critically. As always, I encourage you to talk to your children about school and the things they are learning, and maintain open lines of communication with their teachers.
I hope that everyone enjoys a Holy and Happy Easter. May the celebrations of Easter encourage each of us to be givers of new life and to be filled with the Peace of the Lord. March has gone by so quickly and we now enter into the month of April. We had some very fun filled events to help warm the days of March and look forward to many more in the month of April and beyond.
Yours in Catholic Education,
