Workshop 2 | UFLI Implementation and Steps in Action Getting started with the implementation of the 8 steps in a UFLI lesson. Introduction, Research and Evidence, Manual Layout and Explanation, Materials. Discussing what works to keep to the program's time suggestions. The alignment with Strand B of the Language Curriculum and meeting mandated 30-minute daily foundational reading skills from PPM 168. Presented by Stacy Montgomery, Literacy Lead |

Workshop 3 | Acadience French Screener This session will focus mainly on reading diagnostics tests that are available for French Immersion classrooms. Emphasis will be given to Acadience Reading Francais (K-2) with a general introduction to this ministry approved early diagnostic resource that is available in pen and paper form only at this time for French. You will briefly learn about the different components of the screener with examples of teacher and student booklets and the spreadsheet used to encode the results. Other resources such as Eclair, Son-au-graphe, Soutenir les lecteurs en langue seconde as well as another screener will be discussed. Most of the session will be geared towards early screening; however, information regarding screening and strategies for higher grade students will be touched on as well. Workshop 4 | Goodbye Parent Teacher Interviews, Hello Student Led Conferences Looking to share meaningful content and engage parents in the learning and improvement process? Student-led conferences put our students in the driver’s seat. They can highlight, share and celebrate their learning with their parents. In this session, we will discuss the benefits of SLCs, tools to use, how to gather useful documentation, how to prepare students to share their learning and the support to get you through to that first conference. Workshop 5 | Lexia Best Practices: Effective Instruction and Use A brief review of the student program and additional resources, and a more in depth look at best practices for effective use. This session focuses on the critical relationship between the student online program, teacher-led instruction, and regular review of student data. Designed for those already familiar with Lexia tools who have completed an Introduction to Lexia session. Bring your own device as we will go live into my Lexia for a guided data review.
